Why Grout Goes Dark
A mop pushes soil into grout, it does not lift it out
Tile is hard, sealed and easy to clean. Grout is none of those things. It is porous, it sits lower than the tile, and it collects everything a mop pushes across the floor.
That is why a building can be mopped every night for a year and still look tired. The tile is clean. The lines between the tiles are holding a year of dirty water, and the floor reads as dirty from the doorway even though somebody has worked on it every single night.
Restrooms, kitchens and entrances show it first, because those are the floors that take water, grease and grit. By the time anyone notices, routine cleaning has stopped being able to fix it.
What Restoration Involves
Scrubbed and Extracted, Not Wiped
Restoring grout is a different job to cleaning a floor, and it needs different equipment. The grout is scrubbed and the soil is extracted off the floor rather than spread around it, which is the part a mop and bucket cannot do.
We walk the floor with you first and tell you honestly what it will come back to. Some grout restores close to its original colour. Some has been left too long, and in those cases colour sealing is the honest answer rather than promising a result we cannot deliver.
